At least two people were killed and another was wounded today when a house in Pakistan's restive northwestern tribal region collapsed following heavy rains, officials said.
The incident occurred in Malangi village, some 30 km off Khar, the administrative headquarters of Bajaur Agency.
The family members of Gul Said Khan were gathered in a room when the house collapsed amid strong windstorm and rain.
"The local people rushed to the site and retrieved the victims from the rubble and took them to the Agency's hospital," an official said.
"The heavy rains with strong windstorm also affected standing maize crop and vegetable farms in various localities of the agency," he said.
