"In 2009, there were four complaints against the CISF staffs deployed at various airports. In 2010, there were 23, and 16 in 2011. This year, six complaints have been received," Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh told Lok Sabha in a written reply to a query.

Besides airports, CISF also provides security cover to nuclear installations, space establishments, seaports, power plants, sensitive government buildings, heritage monuments and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation among others.

In reply to another question, Singh said his ministry has utilised 82 per cent of its budgetary allocation during the 11th Five year plan.

"The total budgetary support given during the 11th Five year plan was Rs 5,080.05 crore against which the provisional expenditure is Rs 4,209.87 crore. The shortfall in expenditure is mainly due to land and regulatory issues in certain projects of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Airports Authority of India, which were beyond the control of this ministry," he said.
