5 member gang nabbed: Rs 2.61 lakh fake currency seized

A five member gang, distributing currency and reportedly with links to a group in Afghanistan, were arrested at Cubum town in the district today and fake Rs 2,000 notes with a face value of Rs 2.61 lakh seized from them, police said.

They said one of the gang members, J was arrested during routine patrol after he was found carrying fake Rs 2,000 notes.
