5 NLFT ultras surrender

Fleeing from their camps in Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh, five insurgents of the outlawed have surrendered to police without any arms, but deposited one wireless set.

SP, Police Control, Uttam Bhowmick said the ultras surrendered to the SP (Special Branch), Arindam Nath here last evening and deposited one wireless set and some documents.



"They are listed insurgents and surrendered due to frustration in the life of an extremist and miserable condition in NLFT camps in Bangladesh," he said.

The ultras were identified as Bisurai Debbarma (33), Corporal, Hiralal Tripura, Jalaksa Tripura, Rambadal (31), Kantamani (29).

BSF and paramilitary State Rifles (TSR) provided logistic support for crossing the Indo-Bangla Border at Bhandarima in North district, Bhowmick said adding they are being interrogated.

Altogether, 26 hardcore insurgents of the outfit have given themselves up before the security forces since January.
