A seven-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her schoolmate today triggering protest by locals, who also blocked a road for several hours demanding police action, an official said.
The family members of the girl have claimed that she narrated her ordeal after returning home. However, the victim is yet to give a statement, Nauchandi Police Station in-charge Arjun Singh said.
The girl has been sent for medical examination, he said.
The locals lifted their protest after a case was registered. The boy is yet to be unidentified, Singh said.
The incident purportedly occurred after school hours and the girl informed her family members after returning home, he said.
The officer said a case has also been registered against the school's management. The matter is being investigated, he said.
