Fire tenders from Bhanajangar rushed to the spot and took away the body, the police said adding the reason behind the fire was yet to be ascertained.

  

80-year-old woman charred to death

An 80-year-old woman was charred to death when her thatched house caught fire at a village in Odisha's Ganjam district today.

The woman was alone at the house when the fire broke out killing her besides gutting two rooms at Gobara village, sub-divisional police officer (Bhanjanagar), R C Sethi said.

Fire tenders from Bhanajangar rushed to the spot and took away the body, the police said adding the reason behind the fire was yet to be ascertained.
