Nine people, including three women and two girls, were killed today as the jeep they were travelling in ran into a stationary truck near Simra village in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh.
Four others were injured, police said.
The victims were on their way to Kondagaon in Chhattisgarh from Varanasi when the accident took place, said Jaisinghnagar police station in-charge, Shesh Mani Patel.
Nine people, all members of a family, were killed in the accident, he said.
Police were yet to identify them as the injured persons hadn't regained consciousness, he added.
