Filmmaker Soumitra Ranade's "Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyun Aata Hai", a 2.0 version of Saeed Akhtar Mirza's 1980 classic, will be the opening movie of the 8th Jagran film festival.
The new film, starring Nandita Das, Manav Kaul and Saurabh Shukla, is a tribute to its earlier version which featured Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi and Smita Patil.
It traces the story of Albert Pinto who leaves his home without informing anyone about his whereabouts.
Alumnus of FTII, Ranade, has helmed children's feature films "Jajantaram Mamantaram", "Goopi Gawaiyaa Bagha Bajaiyaa" and animated TV serials "Karadi Tales" and "Bandbudh Aur Budbak."
The festival will start from September 18 and conclude on September 24 at a suburban multiplex here.
