Assam govt to award scientists

Chief Minister today said the state government will award works of scientists to motivate them.

Speaking on the occasion of 24th National Children's Science in Dibrugarh, Sonowal said this will also motivate scientists for further research and inventions.



An official release quoting him said government will organise a national-level science fair in the state to take science to the door steps of the people and to increase its popularity.

In order to give fillip to the growth and development of Assam, students would be groomed with a right mix of science and technology with other subjects in the curriculum.

"Science and Technology are the potent tools for the skill development of our students," Sonowal said.

The use of science and technology would help in getting people acclimatised and acquainted with the prevailing climatic conditions of Assam, he added.
