"Looking back to the year 2006, when Bandage came into being, we can only think about the happy memories, the path which we meandered through, the phase we had passed by," the funnyman on Zee Bangla said on the eve of the sixth anniversary of the band this evening.

"Like layers of cloth in a bandage, which hide the pains of the festering wound, the band had come up with numbers that hide the attendant pangs of suffering one experiences in life's journey," Mir, whose Mirakkel had been one of the highest TRP earners on a Bengali channel in past years said.

Referring to the chart topper 'Awesome Sala' number, Mir, who had turned up in couple of films including Bhooter Bhabisyat, said at the band's birthday function, "the song has surpassed our expectations. And now we will launch the album with the name next month."

He said the current episode of Mirakkel, which has created history, will end by next month and the next episode will be hosted next year.

"Bandage has got its own share of fans that have supported us all through. At first we did not think about stepping outside that format and giving it individuality, but destiny has its own plan and now we are a full-fledged musical band," Mir said.

Popular Bengali actor Rajatabha Dutta, who had also turned up in a Vishal Bharadwaj Hindi film earlier, said "for me the name 'Bandage' suggests a band coming of age."

"Also Bandage acted as a catalyst to unleash the creative energy, welled up in the mind of present day youngsters, and popularised a new laughter idiom on the telly," Rajatabha, who is among the familiar judges on Mir's show, reasoned.
