Divers today recovered the body of missing former national level swimmer Kajal Dutta from a pool in College Square in the northern part of the city, police said.
Sexagenarian Dutta, also a senior trainer, had gone missing while swimming at the pool yesterday. None had seen him coming out of the water.
Following a search in the pool since yesterday, his body was found trapped under a wooden plank under the pool's diving platform, police said.
Trainers and lifesavers at the swimming club had unsuccessfully searched for Dutta in the pool, following which a team from police's disaster management group initiated a search, police said.
At least 10 divers conducted a thorough search since yesterday morning and found the body today.
