Police today claimed to have foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing a dozen animals from a truck in Samba district, an official said. The truck was intercepted at Thatial area in Gagwal belt of Samba by the police. 12 bovines, which were being transported illegally, were rescued, a police officer said. However, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot, the policeman said. Police have registered a case and probe is on.
