Brother of LeT 'terrorist' questioned over bank transactions

Praveen, the brother of alleged (LeT) terrorist Sandeep Sharma, was taken into custody for questioning after it was found that Rs two lakh had been deposited in his account some months back, the police said.

Investigation has shown that the money had been deposited from in Praveen's account in Haridwar in Uttarakhand, police said.

Praveen, who hails from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, is a taxi driver in Haridwar.

He is the brother of Sandeep, who was arrested by the Police in the Valley earlier this week for allegedly being an activist of Pakistan-based terror outfit LeT.

Sandeep alias Adil, an expert in looting, was involved in criminal and militant activities and became a "hardcore terrorist in the sense that he accompanied LeT terrorists in three actions", according to Inspector General of Kashmir Police Muneer Khan. PTI CORR AKK
