A man, suspected to be involved in the killing of a bus passenger in Virudhanagar district, today surrendered before a Judicial Magistrate here.

Mohammed Rafique was remanded in judicial custody for 15 days by the Magistrate Gayathri Devi, police said.

Karuppasamy, aged around 25, who was travelling in a government bus bound for Coimbatore was shot dead by an unidentified gang following an altercation near Sattur in Virudhanagar district yesterday.

When the co-passengers raised an alarm, the gang members jumped out of the bus and escaped.
