The Cabinet was today informed about the cyber security pact that aims to promote information exchange and technical collaboration between India and Bangladesh.
"The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been apprised of the Memorandum of Understanding between India and Bangladesh on cyber security cooperation," an official statement said.
Both the agencies will promote exchange of information on cyber attacks and security incidents, technology cooperation, exchange security policies and best practices and human resource development.
"The MoU between CERT-In and BGD e-Gov CIRT would be implemented through a duly set up Joint Committee on Cyber Security," the statement said.
The pact comes at a time when governments, businesses and consumers are increasingly facing a variety of cyber threats, the statement said.
