The Odisha police have seized a large consignment of cannabis from an Uttar Pradesh-bound truck in Kalahandi district today, a police officer said.
The seizure took place under the jurisdiction of Narla police station, the officer said, adding that the driver and the helper of the truck were taken into custody for interrogation.
The truck was carrying 14 quintal of cannabis, the officer said.
The police, acting on a tip-off, checked various trucks and detained the vehicle near Sardhapur, he said.
The contraband was loaded in the empty truck near Raigada and was being taken to Mathura, the police officer said.
