A woman and an eight-year-old girl were injured when a car hit them while they were crossing a road in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri this afternoon, the police said.
Tasveera (30), who was accompanied by her neighbour's daughter Rubina, were hit by a Maruti Swift Dzire while crossing the road, they added.
The accused driver, Daksh (27), has been arrested. He works as a driver with a private firm.
The injured persons are currently undergoing treatment but their condition is said to be stable.
Police said that they were crossing the road while the traffic was moving and the driver applied the brakes in time to avert a major accident.
The driver said that he tried to apply brakes but could not do so in time.
