Cardamom futures slide 0.36% on profit-booking

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Cardamom prices drifted lower by 0.36 per cent to Rs 1,408.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels, driven by easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December month declined by Rs 5.10, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 1,408.90 per kg in business turnover of 15 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in far-month January 2017 was trading lower by Rs 4.10, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 1,450.40 per kg in 12 lots.

Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants at existing levels, fall in demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing regions mainly led to decline in cardamom prices at futures trade.
