Carey Mulligan asked Colin Firth to give wedding speech

The 26-year-old actress and Mumford & Sons frontman Marcus Mumford tied the knot inside a barn at Stream Farm in Bridgwater, Somerset, South West England, at a service conducted by the groom's vicar father John, reported Sun online.

Mulligan and Firth became close during the awards season in 2010, when they were both nominated for multiple gongs- the former for her breakthrough performance in 'An Education' and the later for "A Single Man".

"She thought it would be funny to have the actor address the room. Unlike his character in 'The King's Speech', Colin was a pro at the speech. He was his charming self and had the room in fits," a source said.

Actors Sienna Miller and Jake Gyllenhaal were also present at the ceremony. PTI JCH
