'Cars 3' artiste personifies Indian rickshaw

Press Trust of India  |  Mumbai

Michael Daley, story artiste from "Cars 3", has animated the traditional Indian rickshaw.

Daley, who helped create the blue print of the third installment of the Disney.Pixar film, has personified one of country's most common mode of transport for short journeys.

"I thought it's pretty interesting to make a 'CARS' character out of a rickshaw!" he said in a statement.

Daley said although he has never been to India, he had a basic idea of how a rickshaw would look like - part bicycle and part carriage.

"I did a lot of research on these awesome Indian rickshaws on the internet and it was very important to decide where to put the face; the eyes and the mouth.

"Some of these rickshaws had a boxy feel or a blank spot in the front where the handle bars were and I just chose that place to put the eyes and the mouth," Daley said.

"Cars 3" voice stars Owen Wilson, Cristela Alonzo, Armie Hammer, Larry the Cable Guy, Bonnie Hunt, Nathan Fillion, Kerry and Lea DeLaria.

Directed by Brian Fee, the film released in today.
