Centre committed towards betterment of small farmers: Pilot

"There are two types of farmers -- first are landlords and second are those with small land holdings. We are trying to solve the problems of the second category of farmers," said Pilot at a farmers rally in Viratnagar here.

He said that despite hurdles by the Opposition, the Central government went ahead with the loan waiver scheme to provide relief to the small farmers.

He assured that government will continue to frame policies in future keeping in mind the interest of farmers.

Pilot also urged the farmers to ensure complete education for their children and send them for higher studies.

"This will will enable them to occupy higher posts in government and their background will equip them to understand and solve farmers' problems well," he said.
