Centre imposing FDI through "artificial passage": Dipankar

"The Congress-led UPA government is imposing the FDI on the people by passing it through artificial numbers in Parliament," Bhattacharya told reporters here.

Claiming that over four crore retailers and their families would be "affected" with the opening of foreign direct investment in the sector, Bhattacharya alleged "Centre has sacrificed the interest of the people in favour of FDI."

"A third front by the Left and other democratic parties is necessary to confront the anti-people government and privatisation, and the left should play an important role in it," he added.
