"Children with special needs performed plays, sang songs, and acted on short scripts. Also, they 'performed' on National Anthem' in their own way, at the function held at the Talkatora Stadium," the organisers said in a statement.

The programme was hosted by a chapter of global NGO Rotary International, in association with Vision Divyang Foundation.

"More than 2,500 differently-abled children performed during it," they said.

Several bureaucrats, MPs, actor Boman Irani, teachers, policy makers, social workers attended the event.
