Madurai District Collector K Veeraraghavarao today inspected the Central prison here as per the Madras High Court bench direction to check if any juveniles were detained there, but was told none were there.
The checking was done on a random basis and the details of the inmates were checked.
If there were any discrepancies, he would enquire with the officials and send a report to the court, a press release said
However no juveniles had been detained in the prison.
He also conducted enquiries about the backgrounds of Inmates making products for NGOs and educational benefits.
The officials told the collector there were no juveniles in the prison, the release said.
