Cong politicising issues concerning peace and communal

Chief Minister today slammed the for politicising sensitive issues concerning peace and communal harmony of Punjab.

Gagneja, who was shot by unidentified assailants on August 6, died at a hospital in yesterday.

"It is unfortunate that for their personal gains political parties were politicizing it," he said.

He asked political parties to refrain from "stooping too low" on such sensitive issues just to get media attention.

The state has entrusted the case to CBI and hoped for fast track investigations to nail the culprits, the CM said, assuring state police will provide all help to CBI for expediting the probe.

He described Gagneja as a suave leader and an able administrator committed to the masses welfare.

"His death was a huge personal loss. Entire grieves his death," he said, adding after serving the army he devoted his life for the state.
