Copper futures rise 0.81% on spot market cues

Tracking a firm trend at domestic spot market on uptick in demand, prices rose by 0.81 per cent to Rs 454.60 per kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, for delivery in April went up by Rs 3.65, or 0.81 per cent, to Rs 454.60 per kg in a business turnover of 1,805 lots.

Similarly, the for delivery in June contracts gained Rs 3.65, or 0.80 per cent, to Rs 458.45 per kg in 39 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by traders on the back of firm trend at domestic spot market due to pick up in demand from consuming industries led to rise in prices at futures trade.
