Copra edible recovers in listless trade

Copra edible recovered in an otherwise listless spices market here today following renewed demand from stockists and retailers.

All other spices ruled steady in the absence of necessary buying support.

Copra edible rose by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 9,700 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 9,600.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 640/710 (640/710), ginger bleached (per kg) 125 (125), ginger unbleached (per kg) 145 (145), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 8,600 (8,600), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 8,500 (8,500), copra Rajapur (per quintal) 10,200 (10,200), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 9,700 (9,600).
