Cottonseed oil cake futures decline on weak spot demand

Cottonseed cake prices came down by Rs 16 to Rs 1,982 per quintal in futures trading today as traders preferred to reduce their exposure in tune with a weak trend at the physical markets due to muted demand.

Market players attributed the fall in cottonseed cake prices here in futures trading to cutting down of positions by participants following a weak trendf at the physical markets due to slackness in demand from cattle-feed makers.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, cottonseed cake delivery for the June contract dropped by Rs 16 or 0.80 per cent to Rs 1,982 per quintal, in an open interest of 26,780 lots.

Cottonseed oil cake for delivery in current month slipped by Rs 15 or 0.77 per cent to Rs 1,927 per quintal, depicting an open interest of 1,05,790 lots.
