Cottonseed oil cake prices slip as traders cut bets

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Cottonseed cake prices declined by Rs 25 to Rs 1,992 per quintal in futures trading today after traders trimmed their positions in tandem with weak physical markets due to low demand.

Marketmen said, the fall in cottonseed cake prices was mostly due to cut down of positions by participants tracking a weak trend at the physical markets due to low demand amid fresh arrivals from growing regions.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange platform, cottonseed cake delivery for the first contract April weakened by Rs 25, or 1.24 per cent, to Rs 1,992 per quintal, having an open interest of 440 lots.

The most-active delivery in May eased by Rs 10 or 0.50 per cent to Rs 2,009 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 1,40,840 lots.
