Condoling the demise of Union minister Anil Madhav Dave, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat today said he was a passionate environmentalist and selfless personality.
Paying tributes to Dave, Bhagwat said they were good friends since Dave was a 'pracharak' of the RSS Bhopal office.
"His death is personal loss," Bhagwat said.
Dave died here today aged 60.
Dave was a passionate environmentalist who worked extensively in the field of environment. His commitment to the conservation of the Narmada is well known, the RSS' top functionary said.
The BJP leader from Madhya Pradesh also proved his administrative skills as Union Environment Minister.
Dave was a long-time member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and was best known for crafting the BJP strategy to unseat Congress stalwart Digvijay Singh as Madhya Pradesh chief minister in 2003.
The two-time Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh complained of uneasiness at his home this morning and was rushed to AIIMS where he passed away.
