A 16-year-old student of a local school has allegedly committed suicide by hanging at her house after she failed to score 85 per cent in class X exams of the Maharashtra Board, results for which were declared today. Komal Bandivale took the extreme step by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house in Sambhaji Nagar area this afternoon, said police inspector Ravikant Malekar of Wagle Estate police station. The officer said a suicide note, purportedly written by Komal was found from the spot. Malekar quoting the suicide note said Komal was expecting 85 per cent marks but got only 65 per cent and hence decided to end her life. She has also advised her younger sister to score at least 85 per cent, when she appears for the class X exams and asked her parents to continue with their work, the officer said. Her body was taken to the civil hospital for postmortem, he said, adding a probe was on.
