Indian-origin actor Dev Patel has been roped in to star in the title role of "David Copperfield". The film will be written and directed by "Veep" creator Armando Iannucci, Variety reported. The modern retelling of the Charles Dickens' "The Personal History of David Copperfield" story will see the character navigate a chaotic world to find his place in it. The original "David Copperfield" was first published in 1850 and chronicles the journey of the titular protagonist, which was based on the author himself. Simon Blackwell has co-written the script with Iannucci.
