Extending the rally for second day, shares of mortgage firm DHFL today surged over 5 per cent after the company reported 28.8 per cent jump in net profit for the quarter ended September 30. The scrip gained 5.39 per cent to end at Rs 323.85 on BSE. During the day, it jumped 5.84 per cent to Rs 325.25 -- its 52-week high. At NSE, shares of the company surged 5.43 per cent to close at Rs 324.05. In the previous trading session also the stock gained 2 per cent. On the volume front, 6.58 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 74 lakh shares changed hands at NSE during the day. Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (DHFL) yesterday reported 28.8 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 232.61 crore for the quarter ended September 30, helped by healthy growth in loan disbursements. In the same quarter of the previous fiscal, the profit after tax stood at Rs 180.36 crore. Its total income rose by 19.66 per cent to Rs 2,167.72 crore as against Rs 1,811.63 crore, DHFL said in a statement.
