Sidelined AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran's close associate V Pugazhendi was injured when the car in which he was travelling hit the railings of a bridge here today, police said. Pugazhendi, a party functionary from Karnataka, was coming from Bengaluru when the car driver lost control of the vehicle which rammed into the railings of the bridge near the District Collectorate. After initial treatment at a local hospital, he was shifted to a hospital in neighbouring Madurai, police said. Pugazhendi has sided with Dhinakaran after the group led by chief minister K Palaniswami revolted against him and deposed general secretary V K Sasikala.
