The 33-year-old will join the cast of the film based on Bill Granger's novel 'There are No Spies', which is part of a series of bestselling espionage novels, reported Contactmusic.

The film tells the story of an ex-CIA operative who is brought back on a personal mission and finds himself pitted against his former pupil in a deadly game involving high-level US officials and the Russian president-elect.

"Dante's Peak" filmmaker Roger Donaldson is on board to direct while there are hopes to turn the movie into a franchise through Pierce's production company Irish DreamTime.

"'November Man' has been a labour of love for both me and my company. I'm looking forward to working with The Solution and reuniting with both Roger and Dominic as we prepare to make a great film," Brosnan said.

He and Cooper previously worked together on "Mamma Mia".
