Eight persons drown in separate incidents in Telangana

Six boys and two youths drowned in separate incidents across today, police said.

At Kothapet in Mahabubnagar district, P Sai Kumar (10), his younger brother P Shiv Kumar (8) and their cousin K Shiv Kumar entered an agricultural well for bath but drowned soon after as they failed to gauge the depth of water, Inspector Rajeshwar Goud told PTI, adding that the bodies of the deceased have been retrieved.



In another mishap, three boys drowned in a pond at Raghunathapalem in Khammam district, a police official attached to Khammam Rural Circle said, adding that the deceased were in the age group of 10 to 12 years.

In Quthbulapur on the city outskirts, two youths aged between 19 and 21 drowned in a quarry filled with rain water when they went for swimming, a police official said.
