Electoral roll revision in Rajasthan to begin in Oct

Rajasthan's Chief Election Officer, Ashok Jain today said the draft electoral rolls will be available with competent officers at all polling booths from October 15 to November 10.

People can submit application for inclusion, correction, deletion and transfers of names, he said adding, they may also apply online for these purposes.

The final electoral roll will be published on January 5, 2013.

Jain also unveiled a poster on electoral roll revision.

He said the nodal officers will make arrangements to ensure that students above 18 years of age are registered as voters for which college authorities will also be contacted.

The applications received during the programme will be uploaded on website.

He said that prior to this exercise, a door-to-door verification programme was undertaken during which 14,98,987 applications for inclusion of names in the voter list were received.
