Four members of a family shot dead

"The assailants, numbering 8 to 10 persons, stormed into the house of Md Naddas (55) early this morning and fired indiscriminately at the family members, killing Naddas and his sons Md Naseem (23) and Md Hakim (32) on the spot, while another son Md Rashid (24) died at Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH)," Superintendent of Police (SP) Saurav Kumar said.

Naddas's wife Amina Khatun was injured in the firing and was undergoing treatment at DMCH, he said.

Meanwhile, the kins of Naddas alleged that Md Suleman had hired contract killers to eliminate the family following enmity between them, Kumar said.

An FIR has been lodged by the aggrieved family members charging them with the murder case, Kumar said, adding two suspected accused persons have been arrested and were being questioned about their involvement in the murder case.
