Gangjee opens with two-under 70, lies 16th

Gangjee, who is five behind the leader Omar Uresti (65), may well have been two shots better but for his solitary mistake of the day.
Daniel Chopra had an eventful round with five birdies, two bogeys and one double bogey in his round of 71, which placed him tied 34th.
Gangjee's steady round was hit by a single costly mistake on the par-3 11th hole, which he double bogeyed at Victoria National Golf Club.
He had four other birdies, one on the front nine and three on the back nine in his card of two-under 70. He birdied the ninth, 10th and then 14th and 15th.
While he had 83 per cent greens in regulation, he needed 30 putts for the round, setting him back a good deal.
