Government doctor demands bribe for operation; arrested

Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau arrested Chandrashekhar Vyas while he was accepting Rs 1,500 from a patient to perform an operation.

"Vyas of Jhalawar hospital was held by the ACB team for taking bribe from a patient for operation. He had demanded Rs 3,000 from a BPL patient to perform the operation," IG-ACB Umesh Mishra said.

He had taken some amount in advance and was demanding the remaining sum before discharging him. After verification of the complaint lodged by the patient's relative, a trap was laid and he was held in a nursing home today, Mishra said.
