Govt playing key role in promotion of research: Chowdary

Government is playing a key role in promotion of research and innovation-led entrepreneurship for solving key societal problems and research done by scientists should be more common centric, Union Minister Y S Chowdary today said.

"As part of thenew vision and policy mandate of the government,the Department of Science and Technology is playing a pivotal role in promotion of research and innovation-led entrepreneurship for solving key societal and industrial challenges and for serving the requirements of the common man through the development of appropriate skills and technologies," Chowdary, who is Union Minister of State for Science and Technology said.



He was speaking at Innovation Initiative (i3) awards ceremony, organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Chowdary also rued at the lesser percentage of technology transfer to the industry.

The Minister also batted for a establishing an institute of excellence for producing noble laureates.
