Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said his government would like to prepare the next state budget as per the desire and thoughts of the people.
He said budget is not just an account of income and expenditure but shapes the direction of development.
"The governments desire is to prepare all schemes through peoples participation," Das said at a pre-budget seminar here.
The chief minister said his government was holding pre-budget seminars and meetings in districts to get suggestions and opinions of the people before preparing the next budget.
Stating that Jharkhand is a state of villages, Das said the government has taken important steps in the development of the state through the participation of the villagers, according to an official release.
Reiterating to put Jharkhand among the developed states through development in every household and village, the chief minister said there is no dearth of mineral resources in the state.
The government is eradicating unemployment through development of agriculture, industry, cooperative, tourism and other sectors, Das said.
Construction of roads, ponds, wells, nullahs, toilets and schools would be done through "Gram Vikas Samiti" and the role of women would be an important part in this endeavour, the chief minister said.
He asked deputy commissioners and deputy development commissioners of all the districts to review developmental projects in villages on Sundays.
Das said the panacea of social evils is, social awareness and total development is a collective responsibility.
