Gur prices end quiet on muted activities

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Dull conditions persisted at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today with prices by and large after hovering both ends on little bouts of buying and selling, pegged same on last levels.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets ended unchanged in thin trade.

Marketmen said sluggish demand against restricted supplies caused the steadiness in gur prices.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,600-3,700, pedi Rs 3,700-3,800, dhayya Rs 4,000-4,100 and shakkar Rs 4,100-4,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs N.Q., chakku Rs 3,125-3,350, khurpa Rs N.Q. And Ladoo Rs 3,250-3,300.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,300-3,350 and dhayya Rs 3,400-3,450.
