Sports For All (SFA), a youth sports championship for schools and colleges, would be held in the city in November this year.
SFA Hyderabad Championship Event 2017 will be held with the support of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Services, Telengana. Aspirants from different schools will participate in 23 different sporting disciplines under one platform, a release said today.
SFA Championship will be played during November 7-17 at Gachibowli Sports Complex and L B Stadium, it said.
Telangana Secretary (Tourism, Culture, Sports) B Venkatesham, lauded the efforts of SFA and said it will give the aspiring athletes of Hyderabad the most deserving platform.
"We believe SFA has a great potential and together we can change the way sports is played at the grassroots," Venkatasham said.
Rishikesh Joshi, who has conceptualised the SFA Championship, said, "We are very pleased to announce SFA championship event which brims with young sporting champions. We have had good success over the past two years in Mumbai and want to replicate the same in Hyderabad".
One of the key visions of SFA is to create a sports-conducive environment for the athletes and develop a professional and transparent Inter-School sporting system, he added.
