Indian grant to build 200-bed ward complex in northern Lanka

The Vaviniya hospital project would be funded through grant assistance of Sri Lanka rupees 200 million, the Indian High Commission said here today.

The project envisages construction of a four-storey ward complex to improve the existing infrastructure of the hospital to meet the growing demand for better treatment facilities, the statement said.

India has been supporting projects for rehabilitation, resettlement and well-being of displaced persons in the northern province. This includes housing project, health-care, livelihood generation, education and infrastructure development.
