Irani offers support for revival of traditional Kunbi saree

Union Smriti Irani today said her ministry will support efforts to revive the traditional Kunbi saree of Goa.

The minister was speaking to reporters here after a meeting with the state culture minister Govind Gaude, during which the issue of dying tradition of Kunbi saree weaving was discussed.

"Earning capacity of weavers who benefited under the Mudra has increased by 60-80 per cent," she said.
