Israeli man seeks anticipatory bail in passport case

Related News

Lokesh Guddlar, brother of police sub inspector Sunil Guddlar, who is currently in judicial custody in drugs nexus case, has complained to state police and the Israeli Embassy that the Israeli national David Driham alias Dudu's passport had certain discrepancies.

Lokesh has mentioned that Driham had given different passport numbers in the applications moved to various courts.

He alleged that Driham was carrying a photocopy of the passport from Bangkok government, even as he was originally from another country.

He further alleged that the business visa, on which, Driham travelled to Goa had also expired.

Following the complaint, Driham has moved an anticipatory bail petition before the NDPS (Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) court in Mapusa town.

The CBI has arrested six policemen including Sunil Guddlar for allegedly planting drugs on Driham during a raid in 2010.

Driham, who is currently out on bail in the same offence, was booked for carrying a cocktail of drugs worth Rs 3 lakh.

The suspicion on the passport was raised when Driham had moved an intervention petition before the Goa bench of Bombay High Court, when Guddlar had moved for bail.

Lokesh said that the discrepancies were noted in the petition filed by Driham.

Lokesh has also attached a letter by the embassy to his complaint, which clarifies that the Israeli passport of Driham had expired in 2004 and he currently holds no valid Israeli passport.
