A district and sessions court today rejected the bail application of one of the main accused in the Jawahar Bagh case considering the gravity of his crime. Refusing to grant him relief, District and Sessions judge Ramesh Tewari rejected the bail application of Raj Bahadur. Bahadur was booked under relevant sections of the IPC, including murder and arson. His crime, committed at the behest of alleged mastermind Ram Vriksh Yadav, included unauthorised possession of government land, forceful occupation of residences and office of the horticulture department, disobeying the High Court's order regarding vacating government land and deadly attack on a police party resulting in deaths of two officers, when they tried to vacate the land, prosecutor Goverdhan Singh Yadav said.
