Jharkhand HC asks for resolution of dispute over approach road

After hearing all the parties concerned, a division bench of Chief Justice P C Tatia and Justice Jaya Roy directed the concerned authorities to decide the matter within 30 days.

Observing that a approach road was essential, the bench asked them to inform their decision to the court on the next date of hearing of the case, which has not been fixed as yet.

Petitioner Sanjiv Poddar, in a PIL, stated that the new terminal point and an office were constructed by the Airport Authority at Ranchi at a cost of Rs 150 crore.

When the Airport Authority began to construct the approach road, Army officials claimed that the area on which the road was to be constructed was acquired for it by the Defence Ministry in the 1940s.
