Kabuli gram, urad rise in mixed trend

In a mixed pattern of trading, prices of kabuli gram and urad moved up by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on increased buying by stockists.

However, arhar and gram with resistance and ended lower.


Traders said increased buying by stockists following uptick in demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to the rise in kabuli gram and urad prices.

Meanwhile, the has procured or contracted for about 14.66 lakh tonnes of pulses to create a buffer stock.

In the national capital, kabuli gram small variety remained in demand and rose by another Rs 100 to Rs 9,300-9,600 per quintal.

Urad and its dal chilka local also moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,500-7,400 and Rs 6,700-6,800 per quintal. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,800-7,300 and Rs 7,200-7,400 per quintal.

On the other hand, arhar and its dal dara variety declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,550 and Rs 6,500-8,300 per quintal.

Gram, gramdal local and best quality were down by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,300-5,450, Rs 6,100-6,400 and Rs 6,500-6,600 per quintal, respectively.

Masoor small Rs 4,700-4,850, bold Rs 4,750-4,950, Dal Masoor local Rs 5,100-5,600, best quality Rs 5,200-5,700, Malka local Rs 5,300-5,500, best Rs 5,400-5,600, Moth Rs 3,650-4,050, Arhar Rs 4,550, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 6,500-8,300.
